Ah Dee used to be a village stray dog in Yuen Long area. Five years ago, he was badly hit by a car which driver left scene right after the accident. The seriously injured Ah Dee was in great panic and crawled to hide under a parked vehicle nearby under great pain. A staff of SAA who was the owner of the vehicle happened to pick up his car and found Ah Dee. He was immediately sent for cure but his rear left limb needed to be amputated out of the serious injury. After recovery, he moved into SAA and has lived under the love and care of all staff, volunteers, visitors and sponsors.

Boy Boy was secretly kept by his owner since birth but had never received any complaint from the neighbours. When he was seven years old, his owner brought home another puppy. The puppy annoyed Boy Boy and they always barked at one another. The neighbours filed a complaint and in the end, his owner decided to give him up and sent him to SAA. Boy Boy was already suffering from spinal dislocation problem and he needs to be on long term bone medicine and special diet. His chance of being adopted is fairly low and we are willing to take care of him till the end of his life.

Mui Jai was abandoned by her owners when they moved residence. Mui Chai became a stray dog and frequented the village carparks together with the other dogs. For several years, they were being fed by a kind hearted lady everyday under all odds of weather. Unfortunately, the lady was being hit to death by a car on a stormy and rainy day. The villagers informed AFCD to collect the pack of dogs. The staff of AFCD found that Mui Jai was very suitable for adoption and so they passed her to SAA for care. Till now, Mui Jai is still leading a happy and healthy life in the big family of SAA.

Paul was a stray dog in Sai Kung area and got injured by an animal trap. A group of cleaning ladies nearby took him to the veterinarian for cure. However, the surgery was not successful and he lost his fore limb. Paul was later arranged to come to SAA for a second surgery. Under special care, Paul has fully recovered and led a steady life in SAA, coupled with sponsorship from the public. Although Paul is physically handicapped, he does not feel inferior and is in fact the big brother of SAA’s dog family.

Ah Ping was found on the street by a volunteer and after health check, she was diagnosed to be suffering from Distemper and F.I.P. and nearly went blind. Fortunately, her eye problem was cured after receiving proper treatment. As Ah Ping suffers from highly contagious F.I.P., her life span will be comparatively short and not suitable for adoption. In addition, she has to stay inside the cage at the quarantine area of our cat room. However, Ah Ping is so lovely, friendly and cheerful that every visitor will unavoidably plays with her during visit.

In an afternoon three years ago, we found a small piggy stumbling in the middle of the road near SAA and nearly hit down by the cars that passed by. We hurried to get him off the road and found that he was very skinny and infected with skin disease. After diagnosis by the veterinarian, Peter was confirmed to be suffering from malnutrition. After several months of intensive care, he fully recovered and grew stronger and stronger each day. He is now living at the farm animals zone of SAA for education purpose.
