Review of SAA 2010 " Walkathon"
SAA's annually fund-raising activity - " 2010 Walkathon" was held on 10 January 2010. Even though it was a cloudy day, we did have some sunny periods and all participants including all doggies had fun enjoying their walk.
The route for this year's walkathon was Hong Kong Island No. 6 route, starting from Parkview, passing Tai Tam Reservoir and finishing at Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir. This year is SAA's 7th Walkathon, our theme is "Miles of Hope, Miles for Smiles". We would like to show the courage of an abandoned animal to live can be a model for the young people to live out their lives fully despite the difficulties they are facing now.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the following sponsors, volunteers and participants, they helped our Walkathon event a success. SAA is grateful to every single person contributing their money and precious time. SAA takes this opportunity to thank our major sponsors for their generous support and donation, which were crucial to the success of the event. Sponsors • Royal Canine • Telford International Company Limited • Dogaroo Dog Training Center • Castwell industries ltd. • Auxiliary Medical Services . • Hong Yip Service Co. Ltd. • hk Discuss ﹠ Uwant.com • Sina.com - • Petarte • Hotlistings Company Limited • Hong Thai Travel. SAA needs your continued support. We devote all our effort to help the abandoned animals and proactively educate the general public the importance of respecting animal lives and well being.
This year, 19 dogs from SAA sanctuary joined the "Love Group" to raise money for other abandoned dogs. Our professional dog trainers, Mark Sir and Sunny Sir, gave up their precious time to teach the SAA's volunteers the techniques of walking the dogs. Our volunteers came to practise with the dogs every week. SAA sincerely thank the unconditioned contributions from Mark Sir, Sunny Sir and our
volunteers.
Everyone had a good time enjoying the spectacular scenery of Tai Tam Reservoir, it is surrounded by extensive areas of trees and shrubs. It was a perfect place for the dogs and their owners to relax. During the walk, lots of photos shots were taken and the dogs owners were busy giving water to their dogs. Free drinks and snacks were served. Last but not least, souvenirs and thank you letters were also distributed to participants at the finishing point.
