Star of January- Bam Bam

We start 2012 with a piece of good news.

Dalmatian “Ban Ban” joined SAA in the summer of 2011. She was found to be wandering outside our office. Our staff brought her into SAA, and thought she was a lost neighborhood dog. However, we discovered she did not have a microchip. She was thin & appeared malnourished. We gave her food & water, but she would only drink the water. We then brought her to our veterinary clinic for a thorough check up.

Our vet estimated Ban Ban to be between 3-4 years old. According to her physical state, it was quite clear she was used for breeding. Once she lost her ability to reproduce, she was abandoned. She was also diagnosed to have tick fever. After a period of intense treatment, she slowly recovered under the care of our loving staff.

Ban Ban is one of the lucky ones. After spending 6 months with us, she was adopted.

If you are thinking of getting a pet, please consider adoption, don’t buy!

Please support our adoption program!

Wishing you all a happy new year!

Star of Feb- Gin and Tab

It’s the first Star of the month for the Year of the Dragon, may we take this opportunity to wish you all a happy & prosperous year !

The star for this month is cat brothers Gin and Tab, they have been living with us for 4 years.

Although they are siblings, the only common hobby for them is sleeping. Apart from that, the 2 brothers have completely opposite characters. Gin is outgoing & friendly, whereas Tab is more timid, and is not physical.

Our cattery was renovated last year. The individual rooms were modified into 2 large rooms. The cats now have more space to play & roam. Tab took the change slowly, and did not mix well in the new environment; whereas Gin took to the new setting straight away. Luckily now Tab is getting used to the new surroundings, and started to mix in with the others.

Cats do not face changes easily, and it takes time for them to adjust. Please come and visit our cattery when you have time, so that our timid cats have more human company and exposure; hence increasing their chances of being adopted in the future.
